Meet Varsity Coach and Program Director Dan Peterson

The 2025-2026 season marks Coach Peterson’s 14th year leading the Chaparral High School Boys’ Basketball program as its director and Varsity coach.

Coach Peterson is a graduate of Olathe South High School and MidAmerica Nazarene University, both located in Kansas. As a college junior and senior, he was selected as a 1st Team All-American, and also named as the HAAC player of the year in each of those seasons. He finished college averaging 20 points a game, and was the 2nd leading scorer in school history with 2,709 points. After college, “Coach P” played two professional seasons in Toulouges, France.
